Review
The Samsung T7 Shield is the go-to portable SSD for creators and travelers who need speed that can take a beating. It reads at 1,050 MB/s over USB 3.2 Gen2, so offloading a full memory card takes seconds, not minutes.
Its rubberized shell is rated IP65 for dust and water and survives 3-meter drops, which sets it apart from bare external drives that are one bad fall from disaster. That durability is the whole reason to pick the Shield over the standard T7.
The main limitation is the 10Gbps USB interface — if your workflow demands 2,000 MB/s, look at USB 3.2 Gen2x2 drives. For everyone else, the T7 Shield is the best all-round portable SSD.
